Senior Software Engineer

November 2020

HemoSonics, LLC is seeking a Senior Software Engineer who will be contribute to the evolution of a novel point of care, in-vitro medical diagnostic device.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement product enhancements as part of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Write, audit, and improve test coverage.
  • Contribute to technical and user documentation.
  • Apply standard principles, theories and concepts of software design and development.
  • Suggest improvements and adaptations to methodologies, processes, and products.
  • Participate in scientific/engineering meetings and present technical findings.
  • Stay abreast of technical knowledge in the field.
  • May provide guidance and work direction to lower level project team members.
  • May participate in internal project meetings as appropriate for background.
  • Support software and system verification and validation testing activities.
  • Manage relationships with third party software vendors.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Proven ability to provide technical leadership within a team and influence without authority.
  • Mastery of software development methodologies.
  • Experience building and delivering product(s) using C#, .NET, and WPF.
  • Experience with Continuous Integration or automated build systems.
  • Experience with software change tracking processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to commit to assigned tasks.
  • Effective analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective organizational skills.
  • Commitment to read, understand, and conform to policies and procedures.
  • Desire to learn and understand diverse and complex systems.
  • Up to 10% travel for work related activities

Desired Knowledge & Skills:

  • Experience developing software for FDA regulated medical devices.
  • Experience developing software in a regulated industry.
  • Experience developing software for in-vitro diagnostic systems.
  • Experience with Windows Embedded Operating system.
  • Experience implementing communication protocols adhering to industry standards.
  • Experience administering TeamCity.
  • Experience administering github projects.
  • Experience administering Azure virtual machines.

Education and Experience Required:

  • 1 year of relevant experience and PhD in computer science, engineering, or related discipline; or
  • 2-5 years of relevant experience and MS in computer science, engineering, or related discipline; or
  • 6+ years of relevant experience and BS in computer science, engineering, or related discipline
