Product Life Cycle Manager

HemoSonics, LLC is seeking a Product Life Cycle Manager (PLCM) who will be responsible for both product planning and product marketing. This includes managing the product throughout the Product Lifecycle, gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely with R& D to deliver winning products.

While serving as an integral member of the Product Development Core Team, the PLCM will also work with sales, marketing and support to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met, while also ensuring that the product and marketing efforts support the company’s overall strategy and goals.

  • Able to influence decision making with senior management, core team members and subordinates by seeking facts, facilitating open dialogue and comprehensively appreciating ramifications from decisions.
  • Deep strategic understanding of role of clinical data and KOL influencers in market adoption and experience developing such data and relationships.
  • Able to clearly articulate product value drivers.
  • Excels under stressful conditions and deadlines.
  • Able to design, interpret and incorporate both quantitative and qualitative research into strategic and tactical plans.
  • Must possess the computer skills necessary to utilize commercial software packages such as data analysis, spreadsheets and word processing.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact and communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and external partners.
  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Determines customers’ needs and desires by specifying and coordinating the research needed to obtain market information.
  • Recommends the nature and scope of present and future product lines by reviewing product specifications and requirements; appraising new product ideas and/or product or packaging changes.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to develop product requirements that are achievable and will drive product adoption.
  • Assesses market competition by comparing the company’s product to competitors’ products.
  • Provides source data for product line communications by defining product marketing communication objectives.
  • Obtains product market share by working with sales VP to develop product sales strategies.
  • Assesses product market data by calling on customers with field salespeople and evaluating sales call results.
  • Provides information for management by preparing short-term and long-term product Go to Market plans including sales revenue projections and special reports and analyses; answering questions and requests.
  • Project Manages the Commercial Readiness Review process, ensuring that new products and new markets are ready to commercialize and support product adoption.
  • Facilitates inventory turnover and product availability by reviewing and adjusting forecasts and coordinating with Supply Chain personnel.
  • Brings new products to market by analyzing proposed product requirements and product development programs; preparing return-on-investment analyses; establishing time schedules with R&D and Operations.
  • Introduces and markets new products by developing time-integrated plans with sales, advertising, and production.
  • Determines product pricing by utilizing market research data; reviewing production and sales costs; anticipating volume; costing special and customized orders.
  • Completes Commercial and Operational readiness requirements by scheduling and assigning employees appropriate tasks and leads the CRR review process.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Life Science discipline or Business with a minimum of 10 years’ experience.
  • Extensive experience interfacing with clinicians and hospital stakeholders.
  • Experience working with lab and IT personnel on the integration and interface of devices on hospital networks and information systems.
  • Demonstrated successful launch of a novel POC diagnostic product in the hospital setting or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience working in a cross-functional team environment

Travel Requirements:

  • Extensive US and OUS travel; up to 50%.
