Manufacturing Technician

Durham, NC

HemoSonics, LLC is seeking a Manufacturing Technician who will provide support for manufacturing and testing of an in vitro diagnostics Point of Care (POC) system. This position will work with a team of Scientists and Engineers to produce in vitro diagnostic products and provide input and support for device improvements.

  • Ability to follow directions and pose questions when needed in order execute complex procedures
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a team-driven environment but also self-motivated and capable of working independently when necessary
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Word and Excel)
  • Must be able to lift/carry up to 50lbs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manufacture and test in vitro diagnostics instruments following established procedures under the direction of a Supervisor or Engineer
  • Accurately and carefully maintain documentation as required under the regulated environment of current Good Manufacturing Practices
  • Maintain instructions and procedures to ensure accuracy and workflow
  • Troubleshoot performance and assembly issues with instrument
  • Service and repair instruments in-process, in the field, or returned
  • Assemble and analyze data, and summarize results, as directed
  • Other activities as directed by the Supervisor

Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or technical field; or High School Diploma and 3 years’ experience working in a manufacturing assembly environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Hands-on experience working on machinery, for example automotive equipment and/or computer hardware, preferred
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment with deadlines/quotas preferred
  • Prior experience working in a cGMP, ISO, and/or FDA regulated environment preferred

The position is based at our facility in Durham, NC and may involve travel to HemoSonics facilities in North Carolina and Virginia, as well as to the field for customer support as needed (up to 10%). HemoSonics requires employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or meet the requirements for medical or religious exemption as covered by the ADA or Title VII.
