Cost Accountant

HemoSonics, LLC is seeking a Cost Accountant who will be responsible for preparing and analyzing standard cost information and providing various cost related reports. The position will work closely with the general ledger and be responsible for inventory related accounting activities.

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office products and Google applications.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Solid time-management skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and analyze standard costs, and provide variance analysis.
  • Update standard costs in the bill of materials.
  • Review standard and actual costs for inaccuracies.
  • Validate the cost of goods sold on an ongoing basis and as part of the month-end and year-end close process.
  • Apply labor and overhead costs as required by GAAP.
  • Prepare cost and inventory journal entries.
  • Generate PPV and variance analysis reports.
  • Maintain inventory reporting and accuracy.
  • Conduct physical/cycle count inventories as needed, and provide analysis.
  • Conduct inventory reserve analysis for obsolete and slow-moving inventory and maintain appropriate reserves.
  • Maintain Fixed Asset records and depreciation schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies, regulations and legislation.

Education and Experience Required:

  • 5+ years accounting experience and a bachelor’s degree in related discipline; or equivalent combination of skills and experience
  • Experience working with standard costing in an ERP system within a manufacturing environment; preferably during implementation process
  • Demonstrated knowledge of cost accounting experience.

Physical Requirements

  • May involve travel to HemoSonics facilities in North Carolina and Virginia.
