Clinical Science Liaison

HemoSonics, LLC is seeking a Clinical Science Liaison (CSL) who will provide medical/scientific communication to healthcare professionals and internal business partners as required. The CSL will assist the company with identifying and maintaining relationships with Key Opinion Leaders and other influencers within the area of patient blood management.  The CSL will also be responsible for supporting internal activities related to training, clinical research and publication development.  

Key Attributes of the Successful Candidate:

  • Working knowledge of medical diagnostic device industry.
  • Track record of providing scientific/medical content to healthcare professionals.
  • Experience working with Key Opinion Leaders in a medical field.
  • Knowledge of hemostasis and/or perioperative bleeding management
  • Experience in Good Clinical Practice, clinical study management and/or clinical monitoring.
  • Proficient in using EXCEL to manage and analyze datasets.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact and communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and external partners.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective time-management and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficient in Medical Terminology and medical writing skills
  • Proficient critical thinking, problem solving, decision making skills.
  • Adaptable / Flexible (willing and able to adjust to multiple demands and shifting priorities; ability to meet day-to-day challenges with confidence and professionalism).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a clinical consultant for on- and off-label questions from the field related to HemoSonics’ products and clinical results.
  • Respond to unsolicited requests for information with focused and balanced clinical and scientific information.
  • Develop ongoing relationships with healthcare practitioners, clinical investigators and healthcare decision makers to provide medical and scientific support for HemoSonics’ products and clinical development programs/pipeline
  • Manage company-sponsored clinical studies intended for expanding product claims per publication plan and provide support for Investigator-initiated studies.
  • Review and analyze clinical study data and initiate/collaborate/author medical/scientific publications.
  • Coordinate advisory boards, symposia and educational events as required.
  • Support internal initiatives through collaboration with internal stakeholders as a clinical and scientific subject matter expert to deliver training and support other internal activities.

Education and Experience Required:

  • Advanced degree in a scientific discipline (M.S. or Ph.D. in Life Sciences, Nursing, Biomedical Engineering) and 5+ years post-graduate experience.
  • Experience working on multi-disciplinary teams and leading team activities.
  • Extensive experience interfacing with clinicians and hospital stakeholders.
  • Clinical experience in critical care areas of the hospital/OR a plus.
  • Project management experience a plus.

Physical Requirements

  • Up to 20% domestic and/or international travel required.
  • Must be able to move and lift up to 50lbs.
