Cartridge Automation Technician

HemoSonics, LLC is seeking a Cartridge Automation Technician who will be responsible for the setup/shutdown, operation, adjustment and first-level maintenance of the cartridge automation line(s). 

Key Attributes of the Successful Candidate:

  • Mechanically inclined and familiar with automated equipment; User Interface preferred.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams to improve processes and procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work well independently and with a team.
  • Knowledge of Good Documentation Practices.
  • Knowledge of cGMP Practices.
  • Ability to learn and perform ERP-related transactions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Setup and Shutdown of all equipment associated with the automation line per applicable Work Instruction.
  • Operation of automation equipment in a controlled manufacturing environment.
  • Completion of batch-related documentation in a timely manner and in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and maintain the proper inventory levels to minimize equipment downtime, and document lot-specific information of those items as needed.
  • Perform equipment adjustments as needed per the Work Instructions.
  • Identify, diagnose, and communicate issues that may arise on the automation equipment.
  • Assist in performing preventative maintenance and basic troubleshooting on manufacturing-related equipment and maintain proper documentation.
  • Monitor and inspect quality of material feeding into the automation line and material that is produced.
  • Comply with all Company Quality and Safety requirements, including appropriate use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required in the department and throughout the site.
  • Assist with validation activities associated with cartridge automation equipment.
  • Assist with the completion of Non-Conformances, Deviations, and CAPA actions related to defined Quality processes.
  • Operate plasma treatment equipment according to Work Instructions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Required:

  • High School Diploma with at least three years’ experience in a regulated manufacturing environment; or a Bachelor’s Degree with at least one year experience in a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • cGMP and ISO 13485 experience preferred.
  • Experience with a manufacturing process start-up or insourcing preferred. 
  • Prior experience operating an automated line preferred. 
  • Experience with ERP systems preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift/carry up to 50lbs.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time, up to 10 hours per day.
  • May be exposed to chemical or hazardous material.
